Chancel Choir and/or Praise Team

Volunteer to use God’s gift of singing in one or both of our choirs.

Job Description:  Share the gospel of Jesus Christ through song, encourage believers in their walk with Christ, lead the congregation in worship.

The Chancel Choir at Rainbow City FUMC exists to glorify God through music and is responsible for the music leadership at the weekly Traditional Service held in the Sanctuary at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings. The Chancel Choir is always looking for people interested in participation as a vocalist. On Wednesday nights in the Sanctuary at 6 p.m. men and women who have an interest in music, sing traditional and non-traditional music together, while encouraging each other in our daily Christian walk. You do not have to be a church member. Music is provided by our pianist Gloria Griggs. Participants are not required to sing with the Chancel Choir directed by Jennifer Roland during Sunday morning Traditional worship. However, we encourage you to do so.

The Praise Team at Rainbow City FUMC exists to glorify God through music and is responsible for the music leadership at the weekly Crossroads Service held in the Fellowship Hall at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Our music varies stylistically from popular praise songs to adaptations of traditional hymns. Our hope is that the music we lead encourages and enables the congregation to worship in Spirit and in Truth, gives glory to God, focuses the congregation’s attention on worship and praise, and prepares hearts and minds for the rest of the service.

The Praise Team is always looking for people interested in participating as a vocalist or instrumentalist. On Wednesday nights in the Fellowship Hall at 6 p.m. anyone interested in singing contemporary Christian music together can join the group for practice. You do not have to be a church member to join us. Music is provided by our accompanist/director Jeanne Mabeus. Participants are not required to sing with the Praise Team during the Crossroads worship, however, you are encouraged to do so.

Time Commitment:  Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00 and Sundays, 8:45 a.m. – 9:50 a.m. or 11:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m.
