DISCOVER A PLACE TO CONNECT
People grow best when they are connected in healthy small groups. We were never intended to live life alone, but we were created for relationships.
At First Methodist Church Rainbow City we have a variety of groups that will help you explore your faith and build meaningful relationships.
We are a community passionate about nurturing people to become disciples of Jesus. We invite you to be a part of this exciting journey.
Small Groups are groups of 8-15 people who gather to study God’s Word and discuss the issues and challenges of life that we all face. It is also where we pray and care for one another and where you are missed when you are not there.
Whether you’re looking to learn about the Bible, have meaningful discussions about spiritual things, spending time in the presence of God, or looking for encouragement in your faith, you will find opportunities to do that in one of our small groups. Join in wherever you feel comfortable.
Small Groups come in all shapes and sizes – married couples, singles, men’s, women’s, children, no children, workplace, young adult or empty nesters. Some small groups are short-term, lasting 6-12 weeks; others are ongoing. Some groups have a teacher who leads the group; others are discussion-based where all members of the group contribute to the conversation.
There are five essential aspects in our small group ministry:
We know it can be difficult to take the next step from a large group environment like our weekend worship experience to a smaller setting, which is why we want to give you everything you need to make finding a small group as easy as possible.
1) Explore the groups listed below. Each group listing will have a brief description of the group, meeting location, meeting time, and a contact name.
2) Most groups are open to new members at any time. Exceptions will be clearly noted. Feel free to drop-in on open groups at your leisure.
3) If you have questions or want to let the group know you’re coming, reach out to the group contact person. They would love to answer your questions and help you get involved!
4) If a group isn’t what you’re looking for, no worries! Our greatest concern is that you find a group where you feel comfortable and can grow in faith.
